BED 70 IS A KING-SIZE BED THAT IS INSPIRED BY 70’S POP DESIGN AESTHETIC. THE BED CONSISTS OF AMERICAN WALNUT AND LACQUERED MDF. WHEN IDEATING, THE DESIGNER  HAD AN OBJECTIVE TO form A SYSTEM WHERE the BED DID NOT require NIGHTSTANDS TO STORE THE USERS' GOODS.

THE 70'S TOUCH IS VISIBLE MAINLY IN THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE GEOMETRIC wooden BASE, AND THE MATERIAL SELECTION THAT FUSES LACQUERED WHITE MDF WITH THE TIMELESS AND CLASSY AMERICAN WALNUT.

"I WANTED TO MAKE A BED THAT DIDN'T NEED NIGHTSTAND'S. THEREFORE, I PLACED EVERYTHING ON THE HEAD BOARD AREA OF THE BED. THERE IS SPACE TO STORE BOOKs, OR any ACCESSORIES THAT THE USER MIGHT NEED”, STATES KUIJPERS IN ORDER TO EXPLAIN HIS motivation behind the vision of his design.
