“Watches out of wood and steel with distinctive, yet simple Nordic designs.”

The Element Collection consists of a selection of watches made out of wood and steel with distinctive, yet simple Nordic designs.

“We raised over 100.000 USD in 30 days through our Kickstarter launch.”

The collection is designed by VEJRHØJ, a Danish start-up, founded in 2014 by the young entrepreneur Janus Aarup. Aarup set out to create a collection of wooden watches based on his passion for design, craftsmanship and timepieces.

“The first collection was created, while he was still working on his master’s thesis regarding the rise of Danish design.”

VEJRHØJ started out in Janus’ apartment, where the floor quickly was covered by design drawings and watches. Since then, VEJRHØJ has grown out of the apartment and today the brand is represented in more than 60 stores around the world. Moreover, the young brand has just won the prize “Brand New Nordic 2017” for the best new watch brand at the Watch & Jewellery fair in Copenhagen.

“Together we spent a year designing, building and testing a new line of VEJRHØJ watches, where we combined wood and steel with a distinctive maritime touch.”

In the summer 2014 VEJRHØJ teamed up with the grand old man of Danish design, Bo Bonfils, known for his classic Georg Jensen designs. Together they spent over a year testing a new line of VEJRHØJ watches, where they combined wood and steel with a distinctive maritime touch.

In late 2015 the company launched the collection through Kickstarter where it was fortunate enough to raise over 100.000 USD in 30 days with the help from customers from more than 38 countries.
